Quantum Patience ……… Quantum Passion

Dragons fall in love

far, far

too easily……….

No, not quickly………

has never been

a dragon’s strength

…….too quickly doused

……..too quickly pierced

………too easily stolen

………too simply dispossessed

of patience

for passion

far too often the victor…….

But is it worthy of victory?

  1. This is my absolute fav poem on your blog. It’s simply lovely. I think butterflies are also somewhat like this. Very well-written.

  2. I wud love to read a sequel. Looking forward to it.
Don’t know if butterflies can be called dragons…yes they don’t have weapons…and sometimes they are highly misunderstood…
But i wud like to think of them as hidden dragons…fragile on the outside but tough on the inside.

Ah, but do you not see the truth? πŸ˜‰ Fire…the fire that dragons possess is the fire of their passion! That purifying, perfect, passionate flame which beats within! And yes. It is worthy of victory, with the right…other.

  4. gimpet says:

Truth, deep and eternal, in this piece. Passion is the arrow that will pierce the thickest hide of any dragon.

    • I am going back and looking at my own words and wondering…just who the heck wrote this! Me? You gotta be kidding! πŸ™‚ But, as long as I keep surprising myself, I keep scratching stuff out!

LOL, I feel the same way when I look and read my stuff! Where the heck did THAT come from? Is that really mine? Like someone invades my mind for a space and I birth something totally unique and yet totally foreign at the same time. The mind is a wonderful mystery. Yes, as long as the journey is one that thrills me, I will continue on it. At the same time, I feel a little like I am in a rut. I keep spitting out haiku and I want to write free verse more. But the images don’t come like I want them to. I think free verse the hardest form of all to write, I do much better with structure and form. But I wish I could…let go!

        • I think that is what writing is all about – someone else inside our own minds! I have no idea where some of my ideas or words come from sometimes … so blame … the other guy in my mind! πŸ™‚ I seem to be a mix – I love the challenge of Haiku and Pleiades…but mostly, the rest of my stuff is just free range organic verse! I don’t think I have a single piece that rhymes.. on purpose! I didn’t get into that poetry class … wait-listed. Besides, they will just tell me the ‘correct’ way to write! πŸ™‚

I wouldn’t change a thing to how you write. It is your style and very distinctive and what draws people to you. I do write in rhyme now and then but it is restrictive. I like the phrase ‘free range organic verse’. Sounds earthy and passionate πŸ™‚ I don’t really think you ‘need’ a class, you are a natural at it with tempo and style that is unique and distinctive. And that is what poetry is all about, the ability to express ideas with words that move the soul.
