Straw Solstice Nonet

¤ Lone silvery arctic pasturage ¤

awaiting a snowy harvest

bound equinox of patience

white hot solstice of love

beckoning a heart

captured within

  1. Most bales are stored away for winter, but not all. I was lucky to find a few, dusted with snow!

    Lovely writing!

  3. I don’t know why I think of how the earth has to have energy stored in that hay and that in it’s existence is proof of summer. Is that weird?

    • Interesting thought, and not weird! All kinds of energy could be thought of as being stored…summer sun, earth’s minerals, passionate lifestyles, harnessed imaginations…..anything that is a labour of love. And I have seen bales of hay release intoxicating aromas and wispy steam, all captured from the summer, in the middle of winter! Proof of summer and maybe even proof of life! Thanks!
